Assault Charge Filed In Hit-And-Run Accident A hit-and-run traffic accident resulted in a felony-assault charge being filed on a 28-year-old Albin, Wyoming man at 5:40 p.m. Friday, May 2.
According to Hillsboro police reports, the man was operating a tractor-trailer rig that struck a pickup at the intersection of Corsicana Highway and South Waco Street.
Witnesses told authorities that the rig hit the pickup, which was driven by a 45-year-old Hillsboro woman, two or three times and then left the scene.
Authorities caught up to the rig and took the suspect into custody six miles north of town on Highway 171.
Robert Anderson was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and leaving the scene of an accident involving damage to a vehicle.
Municipal Court Judge Florence Logan set Anderson’s bonds at $16,000.

Cleburne Men Arrested Early Sunday A traffic stop in the 100 block of South Waco Street at 1:28 a.m. Sunday, May 4, resulted in an arrest by Hillsboro police.
A 19-year-old Cleburne man was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated.
Two passengers in the vehicle, identified as 19- and 20-year-old Cleburne men, were cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor and released to their parents, ac-cording to reports.
Officer Michael Vicars made the stop.
DWI Arrest Made on Corsicana Highway Hillsboro police made an arrest following a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Corsicana Highway at 5:54 a.m. Sunday, May 4.
A 23-year-old Irving man was taken into custody on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
Officer Stephen Nanny and Lieutenant Amy Cox made the stop.
