An 18-year-old Hillsboro man was arrested after attempting to sexually assault a child in a Hillsboro neighborhood Saturday, January 20.
According to reports, officers responded to the 1000 block of East Franklin Street at 4:41 p.m. after a 5-year-old girl who was playing in her front yard was approached by the man. He allegedly grabbed the girl, took her to the side of the house and attempted to assault her before fleeing east on Franklin Street.
Security footage captured the subject, and his picture was posted to social media in an effort to identify him. His address in the 300 block of Carr Street was provided to authorities after the post was made.
