The deadline for candidates to file for a spot on a local city or school ballot is Friday, February 16. Several cities and schools in the area have announced available positions in May.
Hillsboro Independent School District (ISD) will have the Place 1 spot on the board, currently held by Michael Peavy, and the At-Large position, currently held by Dr. Christopher Teague, on the ballot in May. Filing is being conducted from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Hillsboro ISD Administration Building, located at 121 East Franklin Street in Hillsboro.
