Coaches Prepare For Changes As UIL Releases District Realignment

Every two years, athletic directors and coaches prepare to find out who and where they will play for the next two years. Last Thursday, February 1, the wait was over as the University Interscholastic League (UIL) announced its district realignment.

In football, the Hillsboro High School Eagles will face off in District 4-4A with Glen Rose, Godley, Venus, Fort Worth Benbrook and Fort Worth Dunbar. Head Football Coach Steve Almuete said, "When you go to sleep the night before, you are just wondering where the UIL is going to put you, so there is some anxiety. With our location we could have gone in a lot of directions. We are pretty familiar with these teams except for one (Dunbar), but we know what they are about."
