Hillsboro Independent School District (HISD) will hold its first esports tournament at Hillsboro High School from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 23.
The tournament, dubbed "The Battle at The 'Boro," will feature the video games "Mario Kart" and "Super Smash Bros Ultimate." The event will be a state qualifier for the Texas Scholastic Esports Federation (TEXSEF), but is open to all. Admission will be free for both spectators and players.
