Truck Stolen Near Whitney A theft of a vehicle was reported to the Hill County Sheriff’s Department at noon Sunday, October 5.
According to reports, a pickup owned by Rebecca Burnett of Whitney was taken from a home on Farm Road 1713 north of Whitney.
The vehicle, valued at $2,500, was last seen at midnight, Saturday October 5.
At approximately 8 p.m. Sunday, October 5, sheriff’s department deputies were dispatched to the Harmony Point area of Lake Whitney, in the 100 block of Tejas Trail.
Reports indicated that a fisherman found a license plate and paperwork that authorities linked to Burnett.
Fire departments from White Bluff, Lakeview, Whitney and 2604 were dispatched and divers searched the area for the pickup with negative results.
Deputies Tim Westmoreland and Kevin McCarty investigated.
Assault Reported in Itasca The Hill County Sheriff’s Department investigated an assault family violence south of Itasca, Sunday night, October 5.
Reports indicated that a 20-year-old Itasca man was assaulted around 11 p.m. at his residence on Farm Road 3147.
A 22-year-old woman was arrested and charged with assault family violence.
Booking the suspect into county jail was Deputy John Miller.
Mount Calm Traffic Accident Results in Arrest The Department of Public Safety investigated a one-vehicle traffic accident at 11:20 p.m. Friday, October 3.
A pickup driven by a Mount Calm man was northbound on HCR 3240 just outside of Mount Calm when the wreck occurred.
According to reports, the vehicle left the roadway and rolled injuring two female passengers.
Misty Lee of Hubbard and Jessica Berry of Hillsboro were taken by Hubbard Rural EMS to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco.
According to a hospital spokesperson, both women were treated and released.
Steven Wilkins, 32, of Mount Calm was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.
Trooper Jorge Ortega investigated.Wreck Near Carl’s Corner Reported The Department of Public Safety investigated a one-vehicle traffic accident at 8:09 p.m. Friday, October 3.
Danielle Hicks of Wilmer was northbound on Interstate 35 near Carl’s Corner when the vehicle she was driving hit the concrete barrier.
Hicks was transported to Hill Regional Hospital by Lake Whitney EMS at 8:22 p.m.
